It's hard to see loved ones struggling

My grandma had a stroke a month ago and is paralyzed from the waist down. Since then, my mom has stopped working and started taking care of grandma full time. She has no problem taking care of grandma but I know that her savings won't last long with all the expenses. She had filed claims for grandma's disability but that's basically just enough for her food and medicine. My uncles and aunties do send some money every now and then but they're not like clockwork. They have families of their own, too and live far from us so they can only send money when they have extras. I was just wondering if there are benefits for full time carers that my mom could claim. I'm still currently in college with a scholarship so she doesn't really have to worry about my tuition fees. The allowance she gets as a carer should at least make it easier for her to budget for food, medicine and utilities for her and grandma. It's just difficult having to see her struggle like that and I know it's difficult for grandma that she seems like a burden to mom.
