Redoing My Room And Changing Closet Design: Healthy Distractions

posted on 9 May 2011

I plan to redo the decoration of my room and change my closet design into something more interesting and lively just to cheer myself up. I am going through an ugly divorce and just when I thought that things could not get much worse than being at war with the person you cared for most in the world for years I am also facing a huge debt just to pay for my divorce lawyer. My husband is making life difficult for me because the decision to separate wasnt mutual. He doesnt understand why I cannot forgive his unfaithfulness even though he already promised that he will never do it again. Words are just words and I have given him several chances in the last couple of years but he continuously betrays me. I know that I will be able to go through this with grace and dignity, so for the meantime, to distract myself, I just need to spend my energy doing something productive like fixing my room and closet.

From Sunroom to Playroom: A Growing Kid's Paradise for Fun and Games

posted on 5 March 2011

We have just the perfect spot for a kid's playroom. It is what is currently the sunroom. It is its own room but very open and visible from the family room, kitchen and even laundry room. It just needs a bit to change it to the ideal place to play. Ideally I would love to be able to paint the walls to highlight primary colors. I would probably make the walls white or yellow and then add accents in the primary colors. I would build benches for the kids to sit on and be able to have bins to store toys and game underneath. I would love to create a shelving system which would securely hold books a more bins for storage. On one wall I would also create a little mini-stage with a curtain for the kids' imagination play. Finally I would love to attach a swing type chair. Just create it to be a little kid's play paradise - perhaps also with a door to the garden and maybe one of those We've also got one of those pop up marquees in our garden too adjoining the sunroom.
